Book Review: Solaris Seethes by Janet Mcnulty

Book Review:
Solaris Seethes

by A.E. Albert

Author: Janet Mcnulty
Genre: Science-Fiction/Fantasy

For years, Rynah has lived with the humiliation of her grandfather's traitorous crime, an act that could have destroyed her planet. History seems to have repeated itself when the one closest to her succeeded where her grandfather had failed.

Rynah learns the truth about her grandfather and the mystical history of her world.  She now races to complete the work he began with the help of his sentient starship and a crew of misfit heroes.

Good science fiction isn't just about science, but good historical fiction.  The author takes the reader far into the galaxy and introduces alien life forms with complex histories and mythologies.  I love a good back story, which the author creates for individual characters and whole cultures.

The most important element in any book I read is character development.  Rynah needs the help of four earthlings, all from different points in our history.

Some are the epitome of a hero, while others are the complete opposite.  The reader is taken on a roller coaster adventure, yet finds themselves bonding with these unlikely heroes as they learn to fill the role thrust upon them.

Solaris Seethes is a fast paced adventure I couldn't put down.  A must read.

  1. Genuinely, something that's of the different.

Aimee, I've again and again read you talk about having felt just like "a reader, and not a writer", or about feeling that you had no idea what you were doing, entering the world of writing..

I feel the opposite about you, when I read reviews like this.. "Good science-fiction isn't just about science, but about good historical fiction." A hit right out of the ball park!

    Have a nice evening.
