How to Write
a Book Review

Criteria for Writing a Book Review:

1. Name of author.

2. Title of book. 

3. Genre.

4. Intended audience.

5. Number of pages.

6. Sum up the story in a short paragraph.

7. Identify the core message and/or theme of the author.  Was this message conveyed clearly and appropriately?

8. Writing style- Does it flow?  Is the book easy to read?

9. Plot- Are there lapses in logic or holes in the story?  Does it twist, turn and create anticipation?  Is it original?

10. Dialogue- Is it realistic and true to the characters.

11. Characters- Are they real?  Do they induce empathy and other emotional reactions.

12. How did the book make you feel?

13. Add a short blurb on the author.

14. Add links to book retailers, personal websites and other social media links.
