How to Create an Active Table Your eBook

How to Create an Active
Table of Contents for
Your eBook

1. BookMark:
  1. Open document and click on insert.
  2. Highlight Table of Contents.
  3. Click 'bookmark.'
  4. Name it TOC (no spaces).
  5. Click 'Ok.'


2. Bookmark Chapters
  1. Highlight chapter heading in the first chapter.
  2. Click 'bookmark.'
  3. Name it ch1 (no spaces).
  4. Click 'Ok.'
  5. Repeat this for every chapter.

3. Hyperlink To Chapters:
  1. Highlight chapters in table of contents.
  2. Click 'hyperlink.'
  3. Click on appropriate chapter name.
  4. click 'Ok.'
  5. Repeat this for every chapter.

4.  Hyperlink To TOC:
  1. Highlight chapter headings in chapters.
  2. Click 'hyperlink.'
  3. Click 'place in this document.'
  4. Click 'TOC.'
  5. Click 'Ok.'
  6. Repeat this for every chapter.
  7. Go to 'bookmarks' and clean out the hidden bookmarks.
